Structures in the industry are often considerably stressed dynamically. These solicitations can generate discomfort
(generation of vibrations and noise) as well as stress levels that can considerably reduce the fatigue life of the facility.
A significant level of vibration can explain the appearance of cracks in a structure properly designed using statics.
NRCtech has all the necessary equipment to measure
- the eigenmodes: determination of the vibration modes of the structure,
- operational vibration levels: measurement of the vibrational amplitudes of the structure under operation.
With these data it is possible to evaluate:
- stresses and critical areas of the structure,
- the fatigue life of the structure.
Based on these results, we can suggest structural modifications to lower the vibrational level below the critical threshold.
Examples of industrial structures analysis completed by NRCtech:
- Measurement of vibration levels at several points on a cracking device (Tamoil refinery, Collombey),
- Measurement, analysis and optimization of the vibrational level of a coffee processing tower (Nespresso, Avenches).
- Measurement of the eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes of a rollercoaster train (Bolliger & Mabillard, Monthey).
