Numerical modeling at your service

Today numerical models are widely used in industry to perform calculations on various structures in the stages of design, validation and optimization.

For a company, producing and using such models in-house represents a significant cost, which increases with the complexity of the problem. If implementation of a numerical model seems easy, the difficulty to match the experimental data in order to obtain a realistic and reliable model is often underestimated.

At NRCtech, we have a proven experience in achieving and validating numerical models. We can provide working methods, computational models or results.

Numerical simulation

NRCtech provides numerical non-linear finite element simulation services covering a wide range of problems such as thermo-mechanical problems

  • simulation of dynamic and modal behavior of complex structures
  • thermo-mechanical stability study of machine components and sensors
  • analysis of pressing / stamping manufacturing processes (contacts / plasticity)
  • calculation and optimization of composite structures

Numerical optimization

Numerical optimization is a smart tool which is very helpful in a part design process. This tool allows to update automatically a given geometry in order to obtain better performance. Here are some of the possible optimization criteria:

  • maximum stress
  • weight
  • overall dimensions
  • stiffness

An optimization example (french only) allows to better understand the working principle of an optimization.

CAELinux: open-source finite element computation platform

NRCtech based its strategy on free simulation software (open source) to ensure the sustainability and scalability of solutions. In this framework, we develop CAELinux, a Linux distribution dedicated to the finite element analysis, providing an open and standardized platform for numerical simulations. Based on software known as Salome (OpenCascade, CEA, EADS, EDF) and Code-Aster (EDF), CAELinux offers a preconfigured Linux workstation that can run without any installation from a single DVD or a hard disk.

To download the distribution or to learn more about CAELinux, you can visit the site dedicated to this platform: www.caelinux.com

Business Tools and development simulation software

We also use our experience in numerical analysis and experimental solutions to provide calculations and development-oriented "business tools" that makes modern simulation technology accessible in industry.

  • customer tailored simulation solutions: evaluation of company developments process and definition of a coherent and responsive simulation/experimental methodology.
  • specific calculations development modules: parameterization and standardization of geometries and load cases, automation of the extraction and analysis of results.

  • simplified and efficient user interface: ignore the complexity of the problems simulated in order to make them readily usable in industrial settings.
